Podcast # 2 - Gimme Indie Rock!

Published on Friday 3 October 2008

Well, this here's the second podcast Computer Age, I think I could fix some sound problems in the first episode (the beginning is never easy) and collect a nice collection of songs that I hope you like.

In the first podcast was the thematic thread to the end of summer and early winter, we have decided to recover a decade, from 90, and a sound, the noise of American rock, which for me personally defined much of my mozos years

Large groups and great songs, recorded with craft and almost always confined guitar feedback, indie rock from the good in this podcast that contains the following topics:

-Sebadoh - Gimmie Indie Rock
-Guided By Voices - Motor Away
-Buffalo Tom - Larry
-Built To Spill - Reasons
-Come - Hurricane
-Eric 's Trip - Girlfriend
-Mercury Rev - Young Man's Stride
-Helium - Superball
-Pavement - Texas Never Whispers
-Dinosaur Jr. - The Wagon
-Sonic Youth - Mildred Pierce

The father of the iPod music heard in a toccata

Published on Tuesday, 30 September 2008

I could not resist to put this. Neil Young, as always, genius and figure:

"The CD was a disaster, but everything got worse with the MP3. It is a tragedy that people listen to music on computers or those gadgets. There are real sound, are like those plastic toys sold in supermarkets. We left that computer companies to define what a good sound and have shown that they have no idea of high fidelity. Make machines sound nice but like shit. You know what? Was at the home of Steve Jobs, Apple chief. And in his room and had a turntable elepés "

(Neil Young Diego A. Manrique, El País)

Copypasteado blog I would like.

What do you think you?. Posts eggs to drag along the ground to make a path (like a dog laze we) also copypasteo the comment I left on the original post:

"I do not share all their views Radikal: IT has done a great service to music and its dissemination, and this can not argue with anyone.

Today it is so usual to have to spend an hour or more public transport route from work or college, have a hand-held device capable of carrying your favorite music behind him is something that is priceless. Regarding the sound quality can not say because I am not the right person for this, but I bet that only the most gourmets dare to criticize the quality of music from an MP3 player or a computer that is attached to good Speakers and play sound files of quality. For two decades, the music went hand in hand cassette tapes, usually of dubious quality, and no one complained much.

Technological progress is not an error, if not its misuse. This can lead to real Errare humanum is nonsense because after all, but from there to tick the electronics and the progress it has made possible as a cancer ... "

For my part I have in the living room of my house a multipurpose computer (made of TV, Internet cafe, string music and entertainment center videojueguil) and just a simple Creative Audigy coupled with decent speakers that sound coming out of there scary. For me at least I think that is the important thing ;-).
