Harvest Moon

Tuesday, 20 May 2008

Come a little closer
Hear what I have to tell you
As children sleeping
We can all dream tonight

But there's a full moon that looms
Dance in the light
We know where the music sounds
Go out and feel the night

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dancing again
Because I'm still in love with you
In this harvest moon

When we were strangers
I watched from afar
When we were lovers
We wanted with all my heart

But now it comes late
And the moon is very high
I want celebrating
Verla shine in your eyes

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dancing again
Because I'm still in love with you
In this harvest moon

    Harvest Moon - Neil Young

Until now he had never read the letter without hearing the music. I have found it too simple (it clear that the translation is inevitable losing details). But oh miracle! listen to the song, every word in the voice of the teacher becomes impossible to perceive the dimensions read. A few simple notes, a few simple words can become intense feelings and indelible experience. I was scared after reading the translation who lost re-oirla part of the magic with which he had always heard. Not at all: it is still more special to see that the letter is a minimal part of what music expresses and interpretation.
(Go roll, to say that the song has always enchanted me)
Luis: I see you are still empapƔndote of the master: I imagine you're hoping that it approaches the dates for action.
    A greeting

Occasionally the teacher Neil is wonderful countryside and makes discs soaked in the best country. "Harvest," "Comes A Time," "Harvest Moon" and "Prairie Wind" contain great moments. The fact is that this is a genre that dominates to perfection. Leaving from time to time the feast of distortion you feel very good.

The lyrics of "Harvest Moon" is a good example of how to write Neil Young. It is not a visionary poet in the style of Bob Dylan or Jim Morrison or a Storyteller of urban nightmares like Lou Reed or a fine songwriter who speaks of the divine and the human as Leonard Cohen. Neil Young is more direct. His songs are simple and clear messages. Can be committed or you can immerse yourself in the classic poetry of love. "Harvest Moon" is a beautiful love song. No, not "Visions of Johanna". The emotion comes on the other channel. Neil goes straight to your heart.

Well, that .... a real poet the transmitting of emotions that does not use a single metaphor, and that complicates the listener makes all kinds of feelings that most of the times you are totally unrelated at first.
To me this is a genius and I still shudder recalling the concert I saw in Paris on February 15.
