Love will tear us apart
Friday April 11, 2008
When routine bites strong
and ambitions are few
High walks and resentment
But emotions will not grow.
And we were changing our ways,
Taking different roads,
Then love, love'll destroy us again.
Why is the bedroom so cold
when I turn to your side?
Am I not kept pace?
Have you exhausted our respect?
While that appeal is
That weve kept through our lives,
Love, love will tear us apart again.
Do you cry when you sleep?
"Rebel all my faults?
I have a taste in my mouth
catch me as desperation.
Is this something so good
That simply can not work?
When love, love will tear us apart again

No need to be a fan of Joy Division to recommend reading "Touching From A Distance." The tortured history of Ian Curtis told by the person who knew him best: his wife. Epilepticus did not know the English singer put him cheating on his wife and what I find amazing is that nobody did anything to prevent what was sung. The suicide of Ian Curtis was one of the most obvious potential. Yes, they helped, but not how they should have done. Many years later the same thing happened with Kurt Cobain. Two guys with similar and strong signals sent in their songs. It only takes a look at "Love Will Tear Us Apart", to say nothing of the letters of the suffocating "Closer."
