and ambitions are few

To make a fan of Joy Division to recommend reading "Touching From A Distance." The story of the tortured Ian Curtis told by the person who knew him best: his wife. Unaware that the epileptic you put the English singer antlers to his wife and what I find incredible is that nobody did anything to prevent what was sung. The suicide of Ian Curtis was one of the most obvious potential. Yes, it helped, but not how they should have done. Many years later the same thing happened with Kurt Cobain. Two guys with similarities and they sent unambiguous signals in their songs. Just take a look at "Love Will Tear Us Apart", not to mention the letters of the suffocating "Closer."
