Avalanche

Monday 18 August 2008

Planted his foot in an avalanche
that covered my soul.
When I am not you see this Hunchback
I sleep under the golden hill.
You want to conquer the pain
you must learn, learn to serve well.

Spiders my side by accident
when low for your gold.
The deformed that this dress and feed
No one dies from hunger or cold or;
The company has not asked you
not at the center, center of the world.

When I'm on a pedestal
I am not your uploaded there.
Your laws do not force me
to kneel naked and grotesque.
I myself am the pedestal
for this ugly hump at the brazenness with which your view.

You want to conquer the pain
you must learn what makes me nice.
The crumbs of love that you offer me
are the crumbs of love that I've left behind.
Your pain has no credential here,
is only the shadow, shadow of my wound.

I started to wish you,
I have no ambition;
I have begun to ask yourself,
I have no need.
You say you've moved away from me
but I can feel when encouraged.

Do not be seen with those rags for me.
Is that you are not poor.
And I do not love so strongly now
when you know you're not sure.
It's your turn to love, my well-beloved,
Your beef is that I like wearing clothing.

    "Avalanche", another great song by Leonard Cohen.
    Is the one that opens the album "Songs of love and hate" (1971). I liked this version I've found on youtube, part of the concert he gave in San Sebastian in 1988: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-oLmOm9vk0&feature=related
