Mark Eitzel
Saturday 3 May 2003
Madragoa Board (Madrid)

Was presented on stage an hour late, with obvious symptoms of being drunk, unable to tune the guitar all night, I was nervous, continually asking for forgiveness, to stupid jokes that nobody understood and nobody laughed.
This behavior is expected for someone of the legendary leader of American Music Club, someone who has been stumbling through life in the form of signing songs bitter reflections on disappointments, broken love, alcohol and meaningless empty nights, but of course nobody think that what one expects to happen in reality.
Mark Eitzel behaved like what has striven to make us believe that is a real loser, and more that I worked I was not able to pose some see in their behavior.
Venia presenting his latest album, a self-tribute, or a rereading of the subjects he knows best, those who dotaban to "Mercury" or "california" in its endless grief, its unmatched beauty.
He was curious to see how the shadow of some songs were planned beyond the author of his own, even though this will endeavor to truncate the melodies in confuse chords, finally, as a result we saw a man in a supported songs, using them as a vital support.
Sounded several classics: "Jenny," "Western Sky," "Last Harbor", "Firefly," "I've been a mess," misinterpreted, but with a hard to describe, with the strength of that he knows only way to scare the hell is transforming them into songs.
In the prelude to the concert sounded the "Pink Moon" by Nick Drake, as a sign that few knew see.
One of those concerts that are not forgotten.
