The Last King of Scotland
The Last King of Scotland
The Last King Of Scotland (2007)
Director: Kevin McDonald
Cast: Forest Whitaker, James McAvoy, Kerry Washington
I confess that I like going to the movies less and less, not only by the high price of tickets, you put off seeing the same things then you do not like anything, if not for having to endure many morons ( 99.99% of the population) and their imbecility. With existing facilities today are capable of turning any room into a home theater any rule (with the added advantage is that your film and is for you alone), the act of going to the movies "has less and less sense at least for me.
However, there are times when it is worth going to the cinema "lifetime" to see some movies before they become available on DVD, and this is one of them. The main details on The Last King of Scotland is worth the price of a cinema ticket has its own name is called and Forest Whitaker. I like movies with all players capable of lifting them up for themselves, for they are corrientitas. Whitaker is one of those players, and I always earned much respect. Not only is an actor cojonudo, but has managed to carve out a decent career in film and TV (despite some considerable proportions zurullo). And according to those who have tried it, it's a nice guy and legal. Nice a guy, come on.
At this point I think it is not necessary that the Forest friend is absolutely terrific in this story, which plays a satrap that had ruled in a Western country rather than forgotten in Uganda today undoubtedly would be considered as one of the worst tyrants the world has ever known. As in the case of Jean Bokassa Bédel (another "famous" forgotten in the gallery of contemporary genocide), the affable and oronda figure of Idi Amin Dada eccentricity (not crazy), the unbridled lust for power and the total absence of scruples joined in an explosive combination that, as always, ended up paying the people. Here we can approach the self-proclaimed "Last King of Scotland" through the character of Nicholas Garrigan, a newly licensed doctor (coincidentally Scotland) who arrives in Uganda as a volunteer and has become the dictator's personal physician after a series of events rocambolescos.
The last king and Scotland is a more interesting movie. We insist that the best is the brilliant interpretation of Forest Whitaker, nailed to the emphasis on speaking, and the peculiar chemistry that provides your particular matasanos (James McAvoy, quite correct). But fortunately, the thing does not stay there and not before an absolute masterpiece, the film is shot in a very acceptable and a good sense of rhythm, so that the two hours of footage spend almost flying. The only flojea shed at first, but then comes Whitaker Idi Amin to take the reins firmly until the end. Oh, and if you love music and African tribal rhythms, disfrutaréis as nice with a soundtrack in which, by the way, Forest Whitaker also makes its bit. This guy is definitely a crack.
Cone, and is also in the movie comes out this lady. And I recognize it without ...
