21 Grams
21 grams
21 grams (2003)
Director: Alejandro González Iñárritu
Cast: Sean Penn, Naomi Watts, Benicio Del Toro
After his acclaimed film "Amores Perros" (2000) turns the Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu with a film that is also giving a lot to talk about and is reaping excellent reviews. For this project the director has a budget and most of its first actions was to move to the United States and have actors there, here is where lies surely the first success of this film as the trio of actors is simply unbeatable: Sean Penn, especially after "Mystic Ryver" going through one of the best stages of his career, Naomi Watts is the new trendy Hollywood actress and Benicio Del Toro has always proved as a player charisma that always adds depth all his papers.
The tragic story of 21 grams is based on a terrible accident, an accident that kills the husband and two daughters Cristina (Naomi Watts), who so far had a quiet and happy life. Sean Penn plays the professor Paul Rivers, who is seriously ill urgently needs a heart transplant, Cristina's husband that the donor will be needed.
Benicio del Toro plays Jack Jordan, a exconvicto with strong religious beliefs to be the trigger for the tragedy, he will be the girls who tramples husband and Cristina.
Three lives shattered, in neutral, three people to meet and find answers to other questions raised.
21 grams is a tragedy in any rule, a highly dramatic and harrowing film, González Iñárritu presents the story in a fragmented way, scrambling the events and keeping the most harrowing moments for mostralos gradually, so that never get off the emotional intensity .
The three actors are certainly proud, Sean Penn a sign here of his best performances, a real tour de force that leaves no emotional impassive anyone, Naomi Watts, with a clear interpretation of that could be little doubt about his work and reveals as one of the strongest bets in Hollywood, even though some saw this clearly in "Mulholland Drive."
The only downside is that you can put your tape is perhaps too dramatic, perhaps a bit forced by González Iñárritu, sometimes resulting in a somewhat artificial, despite this, 21 Grams is a film that certainly deserves great punishment, but only to attend one of the most shocking of interpretation of recent times.
