Moby Dick (Madrid)

Among the many concerts that can be seen at the end of the year there are quite a few performances that are quite frustrating, sometimes it is discovered that the group sounds so good that a disc is not able to recreate these songs on a stage or doing it without any conviction , Whether motivated by this incapacity, negligence or exhaustion, especially in a country like ours that we should not deceive ourselves, is usually not a reason too AFREC his best performances for the bands that visit us.
For all of this is rare to enjoy a concert like the one offered in the hall Snider Clem MobyDick, full of intensity, of emotion, and of carpus of energy, brave and risky.
Despite initial doubts (Jet played on the same day), the registration MobyDick a very good entry, without being boring, which is transmitted good feelings.
Andrew Bird telonero pursued as an American musician with a surprising resemblance to Jeff Buckley, not only in his voice but especially in its physical aspect, Bird offered a convincing case that envelopes you in September to the public, alone, basing its action on a simple guitar and a violin that to sound like their own base ritmica through a pedal with repetition, thus achieving chaining a series of songs certainly bright moments of great beauty and emotional range, between the epic itself Buckley and elegance of Scott Walker, his acting, however, ended by becoming too long. Despite this, Bird is undoubtedly a name to be taken into account.
"Soft Spot", the last disc Clem Snider, was a little disappointed, but not a bad disc did not have the freshness of their previous two albums, did not have issues as round, so the performance of the band Chicago raised some questions, questions that are quickly diluted when the musicians, sheathed in black suits, began their incontestable set. Sounded themes of all his records, his best songs, without any kind of speculation, showing how a band fully competent, pleasantly surprised by the charisma of Eef Berzelay on stage, very chatty and insurance, with a very positive attitude.
Songs like "I Love The Unknown", "African Friend," ( "Your Favorite Music") or "Good vs Evil," "Do not Be Afraid Of Your Anger," "Joan Jett Of Arc" or "No One 'S more than happy You "from" The Ghost Of Fashion "(2002) sounded incredibly fresh and inspired, songs that sound like Pop, Rock, at Alt-Country, Folk or Noise with echoes of Wilco, Pavement and Silver Jews. What we end up at more convincing than the versions that were interpreted to the astonishment and enthusiasm of the audience: a version of "Beautiful" from Christina Aguilera (including in his last EP), a vibrant and surprising read, nothing more and nothing less than "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath, dedicated to Bush and to "Asnar," "Get Back The Key to My Heart" by Uncle Tupelo, "I'll Be Your Mirror" by Lou Reed and as a final snap impressive version of "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" by Neil Young, and the second a and with the public fully delivered.
The only thing I was wanting me to hear that my best is its theme: "Let's Explode", but it's not something that would just throw in face of a band that is delivered in this way on a stage.
In short, a memorable night, a concert round, surprising, exciting and vibrant, a band with ways of big band, I wonder if those who went to see Jet went so convinced ...
