Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Nick Drake
Pink Moon
Island 1972
When Nick Drake entered the study sessions "pink moon" something in the already dead, we will never know the reason for that unhappiness vital that Drake came to its conclusion with this work. The fact is that the few who had ambitions in life were diluted after the commercial failure of "Bryter Layter"
Legend has it that the master Drake left in the reception of the record, on a tray and after it took days to realize what it was.
That master of the songs contained some more shocking is that been able to make any human being, a succession of descarnadas thinking about life, love and death, especially death, present throughout the disc as a frigid spectator, as but a musician: "I've seen written, the moon rose in this way" ( "Pink Moon").
One after another, song after song, all the ghosts come out of Drake to light, a sort of exorcism magic, resulting in beautiful themes, "place to be," "road", "Things Behind the Sun," " free ride ", with Drake and his guitar as the only players, intimate confessions of a person taken to the limit, making a living on the ropes.
Nick Drake is all in a magical aura, his way of singing, his amazing technique guitarristica, his personality, and there is no doubt that his records is where we can appreciate all that magic, his work is absolutely crucial, but it is in " Pink Moon "where the magic becomes a tragedy.
